The Motability Scheme helps those living with a disability gain freedom through access to cars that are stylish and fun-to-drive cars, as well as affordable.

The Motability car scheme allows those who receive mobility allowance to exchange all, or part of it, to lease a car of their choice. You’ll find the full list of our Motability cars further down this page.

For those who have Motability eligibility, we’re here to help you find a MINI that’s perfect for you and your needs. With plenty of options that offer space and practicality, as well as a joyful drive.

When choosing a MINI through the car Motability Scheme, you’ll be able to select a model that suits you to a tee, at a price that fits your budget too. The whole thing is simple and straightforward as your payments will be deducted from your allowance every four weeks, then paid directly to the Department for Work and Pensions or Veterans UK.

There are a few different allowances which cover your Motability car through the Scheme. If you receive any of the following, you can use your payments to cover the monthly rentals of a MINI over the next three years:

• The Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance.
• The Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP) – please note: to be eligible for the PIP Motability car scheme, you need to be on the enhanced rate not standard rate.
• The War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS).
• The Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).

Your Motability Scheme eligibility will depend on whether you have at least 12 months left before your benefit ends. You’ll find this information on your benefit decision letter if you’re unsure.
