From 1st July 2021, new EU law states that every electric car must include an Acoustic Vehicle Alert System (AVAS), which emits a noise of between 56 decibels to 75 decibels at low speeds (up to 20km/h or 12.5 mph).
This law is for new cars that are homologated from 1st July 2021.
From model year 2021, all new Audi electric cars are being built with the AVAS system.
Any existing electric Audi’s already registered prior to this date do not need any modifications as they were compliant to the required legislation at time of their registration.
