Audi's premier SUV receives a plug-in hybrid variant, bringing new levels of quiet, comfort and elegance alongside spectacularly low emissions.
Eschewing blue trim to denote its hybrid status, the new Audi Q7 e-Tron takes its design straight from the traditional Q7 SUV. Thankfully the Q7, which also has low emissions for a diesel engine, is already a thing of beauty, a solid and reliable chariot that is deceptively light. The Q7 e-Tron retains all of its sibling’s best features, including the eye-catching hexagonal grille and sturdy rear.
The interior of the Q7 e-Tron aims to present its driver and passengers with opulence at every turn, offering a level of luxury that any other manufacturer would be hard pushed to better. Each of the surfaces that you interact with is covered with plush materials whilst inlays come with diamond finish, anodised, anthracite and silver grey for an extra element of opulence. Elsewhere, each of the five seats is decked out in twin leather upholstery whilst the front seats benefit from a heating system and four-way lumbar support.
As the Q7 e-Tron is a hybrid vehicle it comes equipped with both a traditional engine and an electric motor. The new Audi Q7 e-Tron pairs a 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, itself capable of 254bhp, with a 94kW electric motor and an automatic gearbox that will travel effortlessly through eight speeds and give you 156.9mpg. These engines work in harmony, with the electric motor powering the car whilst it can or until you need a boost of extra speed, at which point the powerful V6 kicks in. All of this means that the Q7 proves its green credentials by producing a tiny 48g/km of CO2.
As the Q7 e-Tron represents the forward-thinking, next generation of motoring, it comes with plenty of technological features as standard. For example, Audi's highly-praised Virtual Cockpit is automatically included, replacing the driver's instrument panel with a generously proportioned display. The new Audi Q7 e-Tron also comes equipped with a ten-speaker Audi audio system and a three-year subscription to Audi connect infotainment services.
The Q7 e-Tron also comes with hill-descent control, hill-hold assist, cruise control and Audi's smart pre-sense assist system to help keep you, your passengers and other road users safe.
