Customer enquiries for the all-electric Audi e-tron have gone into overdrive following the government’s announcement that all zero-emission company cars will pay no benefit-in-kind (BIK) tax in the 2020/21 tax year.

In addition to the 0% rate for 2020/21, zero-emission cars will incur a 1% BIK charge in 2021/22 and 2% in 2022/23.“Appropriate percentages beyond 2022-23 remain under review and will be announced at future fiscal events,” a government spokesperson said.“The Government aims to announce appropriate percentages at least two years ahead of implementation to provide certainty for employers, employees and fleet operators.”
