Q&A with Adam Fear, Master Technician - Taunton Audi

From behind the wheel to under the bonnet. We posed some questions to Adam Fear, Master Technician at Taunton Audi to find out more about life as a Technician with Audi.



Name – Adam Fear

Age – 34

Where do you live? – Taunton, Somerset.

What family do you have? – Married with 3 children, 4 year old twin boys and a 20 month old girl.

Time with Company? – 18 Years.

What do you love most about working with Marshall Audi? – I love the brand, and being able to work on a great product is an added bonus. I also like the variety that come with the job, from working through complex faults to interacting with a variety of customers.

Total time in the motor industry? – 18 Years.

Current job title? – Master Technician.

How long in this position? – 5 Years.

What are your future career aspirations? – I would like to progress my career towards being an Aftersales Manager, and feel very fortunate to be enrolled in the Marshall Future Leader Programme, which provides me with a great platform to be able to achieve this.

What was your position when you started with the company – Apprentice Technician.

What other jobs did you have before you started with Audi? – None.

Any hobbies outside of work? – My young family occupies a lot of my free time at the moment, but when there is bit of free time I enjoy watching/playing football and am a keen Bristol City supporter.

Greatest work achievement? – Becoming an Audi accredited Master Technician and enrolling in the Future Leaders Programme.

What gives you the most satisfaction about your job? – I really enjoy the people I work with, we have a great team of people here which makes it a pleasure to be a part of. Also, the sense of job satisfaction you get when you manage to diagnose and repair a particularly challenging fault on a vehicle.
