At a lavish afternoon tea hosted by Grosvenor Casino Reading South on the 6th of April, finalists of the NatWest Thames Valley Venus Awards 2017, in association with Marshall Volkswagen, were announced to over 100 excited guests; keen to hear which of the many businesswomen in attendance would proceed to the illustrious Ceremony and Gala Dinner at the Madejski Stadium on the 9th of June, the event was abuzz with some of the finest female minds in the region, eager to celebrate the success of those who would progress to the Final.
With over 1,400 nominations and 320 applications received across 15 categories, reaching the final stages is far from a cakewalk; each nominee in the process demonstrated exceptional dedication to their craft, with many balancing their business acumen alongside the complexities of raising a family. Ultimately, accomplishments in professional fields were what separated the excellent from the exceptional, leading to progression to the final round of the Awards.
The Venus Awards are the brainchild of hospitality magnate Tara Howard, who felt the achievements and efforts of women in business deserved further recognition; especially when carried alongside other commitments.
