Marshall Volkswagen are proud to be associated with the NatWest Thames Valley Venus Awards 2017, officially announcing the Semi-Finalists to an excited crowd at their Reading showroom on the 27th of February.
Over 120 guests were in attendance at the prestigious ceremony, celebrating the successes of women who have made exceptional contributions in business. Dubbed “The Working Women’s Oscars” by Channel 4, the awards are a one-of-a-kind opportunity for anyone to nominate a friend, client or family member who they believe are blazing a trail in their field. As a result, over 1,400 and 320 applications were received, eager to praise those who have been making an exceptional impact, often in the face of adversity.
“As a large employer across the Thames Valley region, we appreciate what women bring to our company in many different roles,” said Marshall Volkswagen Franchise Director Andrew Lean. “We are continuously working to provide more opportunities. We are very proud to recognise the women in Marshall Volkswagen, and also those who have been nominated for the very first Venus Awards in this region.”
The Venus Awards began in Dorset in 2009, as the brainchild of hospitality tycoon Tara Howard. Her vision was the cast the limelight on women who showcased the grit, determination and skill required to excel in business, with the success of the Awards securing their growth to include Southampton, Brighton, Devon, Oxford, Portsmouth, Birmingham, Isle of Wight and Bristol.
The highly-anticipated Finalists Announcement is scheduled to take place on Thursday the 4th of April 2017.
