Clear communication

The new ID.5 GTX shines with a genuine highlight at the very first glance with the innovative IQ.LIGHT as standard. The matrix technology of this system permits continuous driving with main beam without dazzling other road users⁠⁠. An elegant light strip extends between the LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. And what creates an impression at the front also does at the rear with the 3D LED tail light clusters including animated brake lighst and integrated dynamic turn signal indicating the intended direction with a dynamic flowing light movement.

Play with contrasts

The new ID.5 GTX offers you many different ways to shine on the outside – for example with your individually chosen colour. This gives your vehicle a very personal touch, while the optionally available Kings Red metallic paint finish especially underlines the sporty character of the progressive SUV. The contrast-rich colour signature also establishes a clear link to the GTX family. Together with the roof in the contrasting colour black, the roof frame in anthracite creates an impressive appearance.

Heavenly views

The ID.5 GTX comes with a panoramic sunroof as standard which is an eye-catching feature with its enormous glazed area extending over practically the entire width of the roof. Even more appealing: an unobstructed view of the sky above which can be operated very conveniently by voice control; for example, say “Hello ID., show me the stars” and the blind opens. The tinted glass also ensures pleasant temperatures in the vehicle whilst the sun blind protects against strong sunlight.

Appear in a shining light

The new ID.5 GTX impresses with a unique light signature. The highlight is an elegant light strip between the attractively shaped LED matrix headlights and the Volkswagen logo. The LED matrix headlights welcome you as soon as you unlock your ID.5 GTX or approach it. The front bumpers with high-gloss painted finish also have their own light signature in the air curtains. Illuminated door handles as well as standard 3D LED tail light clusters with dynamic turn signals and selectable animations put the sporty design in a new light. Interior door handles that are illuminated as standard round off the light design.

Keeps you in your lane. And others at a distance

The ID.5 comes with Travel Assist with swarm data as standard, so you have an extremely useful driving assistance system on board.
Travel Assist with swarm data can keep you in lane, maintain a distance from the vehicle in front and also ensure that the vehicle keeps to a maximum speed that you have set.​​

Does your hobby or job need a lot of equipment? No problem, because the ID.5 GTX is optionally available with an electrically folding towing bracket. Thanks to the dual-motor all-wheel drive system, this is designed for loads up to 1,400 kg (braked)⁠

A sporty connection

GTX stands for breathtaking electric performance that will keep you captivated. Above all, however, it stands for sportiness as the new ID.5 GTX hugs the road complimented by the standard Sports Package Plus running gear with especially firm tuning of the springs, shock absorbers and stabilisers. The optional progressive steering ensures enhanced handling and an especially direct driving feeling particularly for sporty driving styles or on twisting roads.

Finding a charging station made easy

Through We Charge Volkswagen offers you the fitting solution for charging your ID.3 in public when on the go. Remarkably simple to use via the We Connect ID. app, you can find available charging stations nearby, plan routes with automatic charging stop recommendations and automatically pay for your charging via your We Charge charging tariff4 – including monthly billing and complete cost control. 

Throughout Europe you have access to approx. 150,000 charging points5 including the whole IONITY quick charging network, which offers varying preferential terms depending on the charging tariff. IONITY quick charging stations enable extremely short charging times and – where available in the country in question – operated with 100% renewable energy sources. The charging process at the charging stations can be started practically using the We Charge charging card or via the We Connect ID. app.

This car has a new sound

The quietness of an electric vehicle depends completely on the vehicle in question. In order to make road traffic safer, your ID.5 is quieter inside and then slightly louder outside using the exterior e-sound up to a speed of 30 km/h (18mph). This ensures that it is noticed more easily by pedestrians. The futuristic composition underlines its visionary identity and at the same time serves as an artificially generated vehicle noise so that the practically silent electric drives can be heard by pedestrians and cyclists.

Supports in cold temperatures: the heat pump of the ID.5 GTX

In the new all-electric ID.5, an optional heat pump ensures energy-efficient heating of the vehicle interior. The energy saved here has a positive effect on the range.

The route planner of the ID. family (coming soon) supports you in everyday driving by planning preferred charging points in your navigation route and intelligently optimising both the route and required charging times. As you can see, many things become easier with innovative technologies.

Pioneering and up-to-date

Updates increase the functionality of the digital systems in your ID.5. Thanks to Over-the-Air Updates, it can update the systems fully automatically overnight, for example, as soon as you confirm the update on your Infotainment system. This means that your ID.5 is always up-to-date and you are provided with new functions in your vehicle.

Pioneering communication

The new ID.5 GTX communicates with light. The interactive ID. Light welcomes you in the vehicle interior and translates the instructions from your navigation system and information from the Infotainment and assist systems into light signals that guide you through the traffic in a more relaxed way. An animation also visualises the active parking space search. This supports you from the corner of your eye so that you can concentrate on the road ahead. Also when you use voice control, ID. Light ensures intuitive and emotional communication through visual feedback to your voice. When you leave your ID.5 GTX, it will say goodbye with a light signal.

Keep your eyes on the road and control equipment such as the radio, navigation system or your telephone quite simply by intuitive voice control. Just say “Hello ID.” – and the system will understand you.

The right song for every music

Do you use Apple Music? If so, you can enjoy your favourite music in the new ID.5 directly via the versatile Discover Pro navigation system – without the need for additional steps on your smartphone or tablet. All you have to do is download the corresponding app and log in with your login details in order to directly access your Apple Music account via the navigation system display and stream millions of songs, exclusive content or the latest podcasts.
