Marshall Maserati pledges donation and auction prize in support of Sue Ryder hospice

We are pleased to announce that our Maserati car showroom in Peterborough will donate £100 to the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice for every car it sells in September. And, we are also providing a sensational prize – a weekend with a brand new Maserati – in an auction at a James Bond-themed ball at the hospice’s Thorpe Hall grounds next month.

On 24 September, the Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice hosts the Silver Anniversary Ball in the gardens of the charity’s Grade I-listed mansion in Peterborough, celebrating 25 years since the centre opened. The event is due to host 350 guests, all of whom have an existing link with the hospice.

Marshall Maserati – the only Maserati showroom in the East of England – will display two cars from its showroom stock of luxury Italian sports cars, adding to the event’s high-octane atmosphere.

The donation of £100 for each car sold in September represents the cost of funding one nurse for one day at the Sue Ryder Hospice. The Peterborough-based Maserati dealership is expecting bumper sales in September as new 66-plate registrations are unveiled at the beginning of the month.

Guests at the James Bond-themed Silver Anniversary Ball will have the opportunity to bid for the prize of a long weekend in a Maserati among other movie-themed memorabilia that will be auctioned on the evening, including props from several James Bond-related items.

Tim Edwards, Brand Manager at Marshall Maserati, said: “We’re delighted to work with Sue Ryder, a charity that provides invaluable care and support to so many people week after week, year after year. The Thorpe Hall hospice is an extraordinary asset to the community in and around Peterborough, and we’re confident that, together with guests at the Ball, we can make a worthwhile contribution.”

Judith Wojtowicz, a spokeswoman for The Bond Girls, a group of volunteers who have helped organise the Ball, said: “We all know Bond loves girls, gadgets and cars. Having the support of a high-profile brand such as Marshall Maserati reflects the generosity and goodwill of so many individuals and businesses, ensuring our guests will have a night to remember. A Maserati was featured in ‘Licence to Kill’ – the last Bond film starring Timothy Dalton – so we are doubly delighted to build on this link and have the dealership on board.”
