Cake sales, fancy dress, pizza parties and…. Swimming the Channel. Marshall Motor Group pulled out all the stops for BEN Week on the 14th to 18th of August, raising over £180,322 for charity (and the number keeps going up!).
Sites across the Group put their best foot forward during the event, donating their best bakes, wearing outlandish outfits and even taking part in extreme physical challenges in aid of BEN, the automotive industry’s support service.
While many of our Marshall colleagues succeeded to impress, one in particular went the extra mile; both figuratively and literally. Marshall JLR Franchise Director Adrian Wallington, alongside a team of his Jaguar Land Rover colleagues, swam the English Channel on August the 24th; months of training came to fruition with a gruelling 16-hour swim, split into hour-long stints with support from the Cross Channel Swimming Association. A distance of 21 miles became a huge 46 and a half, thanks to the turning tides; however, the team successfully beat the challenge and set a new bar for fearless fundraising.
A massive well done to Adrian, his Industry Leader Challenge teammates and everyone at Marshall who took part in BEN Week. We can’t wait for the final figure!
